We built FirstShift because the internship is broken
Most internships available to Indian college students fall into two buckets: unpaid grunt work that teaches nothing, or a PDF certificate for watching videos. Neither helps you in an interview.
FirstShift is a different model. Every cohort is built around a real brief from a real scenario. You do the work, a working professional reviews it against a published rubric, and you earn a certificate only if your work meets the bar. The certificate has a public verification link so it actually means something.
We are based in Bengaluru, India and serve students across India. We are a small, independent team that believes the best way to prepare for a career is to do real work, with real feedback, before the stakes are a salary.
